Brangelina Donate $2 Million to Wildlife Sanctuary

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have made a $2 million donation to the wildlife sanctuary in Namibia where they spent Christmas. The Hollywood couple jetted off to the African country with their six children to spend the holidays at the Naankuse Lodge and Wildlife Sanctuary.

The festive destination had special meaning for their daughter Shiloh, who was born in Namibia in 2006, and the couple kept up its links to the country by donating cash to the resort where they stayed, which is run by Dr Rudie van Vuuren and his wife Marlice.

A statement from Jolie, released to the Associated Press, reads, "We want her (Shiloh) to grow up with an understanding of her country of birth. We have known Rudie and Marlice for many years and continue to be impressed by their hard work and dedication to the people and conservation of the land and wildlife of Namibia."

Billy Bob Thornton Denies He Had Angelina Jolie's Blood

Billy Bob Thornton has dispelled rumors he wore a vial of Angelina Jolie's blood around his neck, blaming the public image of the couple as "vampires" for the bizarre story. Thornton married the actress in 2000 and they frequently made headlines with reports about their love life, including speculation they kept one another's blood in tiny bottles.

But the "Armageddon" star insists their relationship was not so eccentric - the pair actually wore lockets with small smears of blood. He tells Britain's Total Film magazine, "(There are rumours that) I wear blood around my neck and all that horses**t. (It was) a clear locket you'd put your grandmother's picture in. That's what we had, Angelina and I. And it was her idea that we literally prick our fingers and rub the blood on the glass in the locket and wear it."

"If it had been Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, it would have been the most romantic story: this amazing couple that loved each other so much that when they were apart they would have these lockets where they'd pricked their fingers, like blood brothers. Angie and I do it and we're these vampire blood-sucking creatures who wear tanks of blood around our necks."

Angelina Jolie Shops for Christmas From Catalogs

Angelina Jolie has to buy all of her Christmas presents from catalogs - because she travels so much she needs her gifts delivered to whichever country she is in over the holiday season. The "Tomb Raider" star has a large family to buy for, including partner Brad Pitt and their six children, but the actress struggles to organize how to carry her presents around on her global trips.
She explains, "I have to do a lot of my Christmas shopping in catalogs because I'm usually in a different country and I need it shipped to the next country we're going to. So we try to do that or buy things locally in whatever country we end up in."

Still, during her recent trip to Namibia Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt had some Christmas shopping. They were spotted at a mall on Thursday in Windhoek on December 23.

Phillip Noyce Won't Direct Sequel to Angelina Jolie's 'Salt'

Phillip Noyce is not on board for a follow-up to "Salt", which has Angelina Jolie as lead actress. In contrary to report mentioning he is interested to return to the possible sequel, the helmer has just stated that he has no plan to make the second film.

"Those 3 [alternate] Blu-ray cuts [of the film] represent just about everything I have to offer on Evelyn Salt", Noyce tells Moviehole. He goes on explaining, "If there ever is a sequel, better its directed by someone with a completely fresh take on what I believe could be a totally entertaining and complex series of stories."

As for his upcoming projects, the filmmaker shares, "Christopher Hampton, of 'Atonement' fame, is currently in negotiations to rework the 'Dirt Music' script, with Russell Crowe confirmed to play singer/song writer Luther Fox. Its a film about the transporting power of love and music. I'm also working with 'Salt' producer Sunil Perkash and writer Bill Kelly ('Enchanted') on another romantic drama called 'Timeless', being financed by Relativity."

"Salt" sequel itself has not been given a greenlight though the July 23 release has earned as much as $293.5 million worldwide. Angelina Jolie once said she is up to reprise her role as an undercover Russian spy in another installment of the action thriller.

Eva Mendes Inspired by Angelina Jolie to Direct

Eva Mendes was inspired to make her directorial debut after seeing Angelina Jolie take charge of the camera for an upcoming feature film. Mendes put forward a movie called "California Romanza", which stars Christina Ricci, as part of the annual Glamour Reel Moments event in Los Angeles earlier this year.

She admits Jolie, who is currently working on a Bosnian war movie, inspired her - and she also credits Kathryn Bigelow's award-winning work on "The Hurt Locker" with making her want to direct a film.

Mendes tells Britain's Hello! magazine, "I loved the whole experience. I believe we need more women behind the camera. This year, with Kathryn Bigelow winning an Oscar and Angelina Jolie directing a film, it's a great time for women to step behind the camera."

"I certainly felt very empowered by it when I made my film. It's about time we heard more women's voices and points of view in cinema because it's a male-dominated industry. It's starting to equal out a bit, though, which is exciting."

Having Slow Start, 'Narnia 3' Still Tops the 'The Tourist' at Box Office

" The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is a new champion at North American Box Office with an unimpressive opening cume. This third installment of fantasy film franchise rakes in an estimated $24.5 million, which is far below some analysts' expectations, despite the pricey 3-D tickets.

The not so strong debut of "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" continues the industry's largely-futile search for a lucrative fantasy franchise not based on "Harry Potter" or "Lord of the Rings". The haul also marks the lowest opening for the franchise after "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" opened to $65.6 million in 2005 and "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" bowed to $55 million in 2008.

Still, Fox senior vp distribution Chris Aronson sees this positively, saying as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter "On the domestic side, our best days are still ahead of us with the school holidays and Christmas yet to come." He adds that exit surveys showed patrons enjoyed "Voyage of the Dawn Treader". As for the prospect of another "Narnia" installment, he says, "It's too early to say."

Another slow start is shown by "The Tourist" that actually gets a boost from Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie's collaboration as lead stars. The action thriller debuts on number two at domestic box office with an approximately $17 million. Sony distribution boss Rory Bruer believes the movie will perform well, stating "The pictures is going to work out fine, because this is a world play."

"Tangled" drops two spots from the peak to number three with an additional $14.6 million on its third weekend. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" follows on number four with an estimated $8.5 million, bringing the domestic gross to a total of $257.7 million so far. "Unstoppable" rounds up the top five with an estimated $3.8 million.

Top Ten Movies at Box Office for December 3-5:
  1. "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" - $24.5 million
  2. "The Tourist" - $17 million
  3. "Tangled" - $14.6 million
  4. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" - $8.5 million
  5. "Unstoppable" - $3.8 million
  6. "Black Swan" - $3.3 million
  7. "Burlesque" - $3.2 million
  8. "Love and Other Drugs" - $3 million
  9. "Due Date" - $2.5 million
  10. "Megamind" - $2.5 million

Angelina Jolie's Movies Items to Be Auctioned

Fans of Angelina Jolie are set for a bumper Christmas if they can spare a few thousand dollars at a Hollywood auction next week. Auction house Profiles in History has a treasure trove of the Tomb Raider's memorabilia set to go under the hammer at a winter sale.

The top item is a visual effects Triangle of Light from "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider", which is expected to fetch up to $8,000. Also up for sale at the auction are Jolie's live firing Sig 232 pistol, costume and stunt handcuffs from "Salt".

Angelina Jolie is currently in promotional duty of her latest film "The Tourist", in which she stars alongside Johnny Depp. On Monday, December 6, the 35-year-old star attended the world premiere of the film, tagging along his real-life partner Brad Pitt.

Angelina Jolie Calls for New Law to Protect Celebs From Paparazzi

Angelina Jolie is calling for a new law to protect celebrities and their families from unscrupulous photographers who get too close to stars' kids. The Hollywood actress has six children with her partner Brad Pitt and the famous family is a regular target for the paparazzi.

Jolie admits some snappers scare the youngsters by getting too close, and although she doesn't want to stop the photographers doing their job, she wishes a law was in place to force them to keep their distance and use long lenses to avoid unnerving the children.

She tells Larry King, "I do think and I do hope that there will at some point be laws about how close they can get to children with cameras. Because I think at some point it's going to be clearer that it's emotionally not healthy. And with long lenses, there's no need."
"You know I'm somebody that I would like there to be a law about the distance they have to children. So I think we work for things like that. Something simple and practical." She adds, "We try not to get them in the middle of it... When they do, we just have to kind of smile and say, 'Don't worry, it's not scary, they just like to take pictures'."

"As a parent, the only thing you can do is try to make sure they don't feel it's a threat, you don't act like it's a threat, and you just keep smiling so they don't feel anything negative." Jolie's partner Pitt has previously called for a law to protect children, insisting he has "no respect" for snappers who follow the family and call out the kids' names in a bid to get a shot.

Angelina Jolie Shows Off Some Skin at 'The Tourist' World Premiere

After accompanying Brad Pitt to premiere his film "Megamind" in France, it is Angelina Jolie's turn to get support from her boyfriend to promote her flick. On Monday, December 6, the 35-year-old star stepped on the black carpet of "The Tourist" world premiere with Pitt walking next to her.

Jolie wrapped herself in a white long Atelier Versace dress which still bared her legs. While she went all white Pitt was covered in a black thick coat. "The Tourist" lead actor Johnny Depp was also present at the event held at Ziegfeld Theater in New York City, looking stylish in a brown striped outfit.

Another cast member Paul Bettany came with actress wife Jennifer Connelly. Director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck was additionally seen among the attendees of the special screening, which was glittered by famous faces like supermodel Brooke Shields, actress Gabourey Sidibe, singer Ashanti and filmmaker Brett Ratner.

"The Tourist" is a remake of 2005 French film entitled "Anthony Zimmer". The story follows an American tourist who is used by a female Interpol agent as a dupe to reach her goal to locate a criminal with whom she once had an affair. The action thriller is set to hit U.S. cinemas on December 10.

Angelina Jolie Dismissed Controversy Surrounding Her Bosnian Movie

Angelina Jolie has downplayed the controversy surrounding her Bosnian war movie, insisting she has the backing of the entire cast and the country's leaders. Jolie has stepped behind the camera for the first time for the as-yet-untitled wartime love story, which is set in the region and was shot in Hungary and Bosnia in October and November.

The shoot was initially halted when Bosnian government officials revoked her filming permit after they misinterpreted the plot as a love story between a Serbian rapist and a Muslim woman. The story also came under fire from members of the Women Victims of War association, who refused Jolie's offer of a face-to-face meeting to discuss their issues and went on to call for the actress to be stripped of her role as a United Nations goodwill ambassador.

But Jolie has now spoken out to dismiss the controversy as nothing more than one person's "gripe". She tells Reuters, "There's one person who has a gripe. The absolute majority of the people, population, the cast, prime minister, president have been extremely supportive."

Angelina Gets Emotional

When asked how her late mother Marcheline influenced her latest role in the film The Changeling at a London press conference, this was Angelina's response:

Angelina Squelches Despair/Breakup Rumors

In an interview with Hello! magazine, Angelina Jolie has quieted the bubbling rumors that she has suffered from a bout of post-partum depression and is having problems with her relationship with Brad Pitt. On the contrary, life sounds rosy for Brangelina and brood.

"We have fun, we have each other, and we have a lot of love in our life," she said. "And anybody who has love in their life has something that is much more important than anything else."

After establishing that her life is generally flawless, she spoke about her ever-growing family.

"It's a big, loud, busy family," Jolie said. "They're all great travellers, too, and I think partly because there are so many of them, they're able to make themselves at home anywhere. They can just go into an empty room, take it over, and make it their home, which is a wonderful gift."

Angelina Back In Spotlight At Changeling Premiere

To follow up on Erin's post below, Angie did indeed turn up for the Changeling premiere looking disgustingly gorgeous and with some fresh ink, to boot. Never mind that she just had two kids. Unfairness at its finest.

Blast From The Past

They're Here!

Question: What were you doing last night?

Answer: Awaiting the news of Angie and Brad's twins, duh.

Well, no need to await any longer! They have arrived! Just last night Angie gave birth to a boy and a girl. The names. Yes the names. These babies' names have been speculated about in every newspaper and on every entertainment show recently. I'm not sure if they were what people were expecting, but I would really love to know where they came from and why they were chosen. Little Knox Leon was born first weighing 5.03 lbs followed by sister Vivienne Marcheline weighing 5 lbs (Marcheline I do know is her mother's first name). Born by Cesarean section in the Nice hospital, Dr. Sussmann stated that the "babies are doing well. The operation went just perfectly. Angelina is in very good spirits. Brad Pitt was at her side. He was there and all was well."

And how did the doting dad of six do during the birth? (Speaking of doting hottie dads, what a week it's been, first a mini Matthew and now a Brad junior!) Always by Angie's side, talking and laughing, the doc called him his "assistant." And he even cut the babies' umbilical cords! The doc went even further describing him as being "perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional."

Awww, I'm so excited for them!! Congrats!
