Back to the Future II Hoverboard props on display...

When Michael J. Fox's 'Marty McFly' travelled into the future world of 2015 in Back to the Future Part II, hoverboards were the skateboards of the future and one of the coolest things in special effects to happen in a 1989 movie (at least when I was a kid anyway).

Hoverboard props from Back to the Future II on display...

Remember back in 1989 when the coolest thing was the 'hoverboard', flying skateboards, that Michael J. Fox uses as 'Marty McFly' in Back to the Future II?

If you do, you'll love these photos of two of the hoverboard props featured in the time-traveling sequel. Apparently it's what all the kids will be riding in 2015.

The red and white 'Rising Sun' design was used in the movie by 'Whitey' played by Jason Scott Lee and the 'No Tech Knowhow' hoverboard belonged to 'Data' played by Ricky Dean Logan.

Also on display at Universal Studios Hollywood on June 21, 2010 was this other vision of the future, what designers thought a Mustang car may look like in 2015 back in the late eighties.

You can see one of the original DeLorean cars and these futuristic cars from the second installment of the Back to the Future franchise on the backlot of Studio Tour where the 'picture cars' that have appeared in various Universal movies are on display.

The two miniature models featured here are from the third installment in the movie franchise starring Michael J. Fox, when Marty McFly and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) are stuck in the Old Wild West, hence the modified steam train miniature.
