'24' Movie Suspended After Rejected Script

Don't expect to see "24: The Movie" in a short future. Despite the fact that it already has had a script written by Billy Ray, the 20th Century Fox is not going to move forward with the project since they have rejected the script.

No details are provided on why the studio nixed the script. But Howard Gordon, the longtime executive producer of "24" series who is also expected to produce the big screen version, tells Entertainment Weekly, "As far as I know, it is in suspended animation."

Giving a light of hope on the feature film development, Gordon adds, "There is talk about re-approaching it.
I understand (director/producer) Tony Scott is meeting with Kiefer [Sutherland] to talk about ideas. People are still talking about it."

"I was disappointed [Fox] passed on the script but I'm certainly hopeful that the movie will get made at some point," he gets more personal when talking about the planned "24" film. "Anecdotally, I've heard from people who are really missing the show and I do think there is more life in Jack Bauer."

It was previously said that the film may take special agent Jack Bauer from Eastern Europe to England during the course of movie. Kiefer Sutherland, who portrays the main character, once also dished that the crisis faced by Bauer doesn't necessarily deal with a bomb, saying "It can be something personal that people understand."
