Val Kilmer is facing financial woes amid reports he owes nearly $500,000 in unpaid U.S. federal taxes. According to DetNews.com, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) filed a $498,165 lien against Kilmer on November 30 in New Mexico, where he owns a multi-million dollar ranch he put up for sale last year.
It's not the first time the "Top Gun" star has had issues with taxes. The IRS filed a lien against him for $538,000 in 2009. He reportedly settled that debt earlier this year. Kilmer's publicist has failed to respond to requests for a comment.
Despite the tax, the actor is still actively taking roles in a lot of movies such as
"5 Days of August" and "Blood Out". The latter in which he stars opposite 50 Cent will be released April next year.
