Michelle Yeoh to Play Former Political Prisoner Aung San Suu Kyi in Movie

Former "Bond" girl Michelle Yeoh has jetted into Burma to shadow recently released political prisoner Aung San Suu Kyi as she prepares to play the democracy campaigner in a big screen biopic. The actress spent Monday, December 6 with Suu Kyi, the leader of the National League for Democracy in Burma, who was freed from house arrest in the country last month.

The democracy icon had been detained for 15 of the past 21 years because of her political views. "Tomorrow Never Dies" star Yeoh also accompanied Suu Kyi to Burma's Yangon International Airport on Tuesday, December 7 to watch as she said farewell to her youngest son, who lives in England and had been visiting his mum for the first time in a decade.

Suu Kyi's lawyer Nyan Win confirms to the Associated Press that Yeoh has been busy researching Suu Kyi for a possible film about her life.
