only after they complete a course of stuby and pass an examination prescribed
by it. in 2000,whan the IRDA made the relevant regulatons, the coursw of stuby
was to last 100 hours. the course, IC 33, was preparet keeping in mind that
requirement. in 2007, the preiod of compulsory study has been reduced to 50
hours.Accordingly, the prescribed syllabus has been modified. the revised IC
33has been prepared covering the new syllabus.
the contents of this revised course deal with all essential concepts, which,
anybody working with the business of life insurance must know. these concepts
form the basis of the life insurance business. insurers will have different practices
and offer different benefits in their plans. All of them will by based on these
concepts. the details of the practices and the plans of each insurer, will have to
be learnt from the respective insurers.
agents should remember that there is much more to know about life insurance,
than what is contained in this course,. The career of an insurance is a highly
rewarding one, both in terms of money and in terms of prestige and satisfaction,
An insurance agent has the unique opportunity to earn the gratitude of people,
like on other profession has. To become truly professional the agent has to keep
learning through experience, formal studies and exchanges with other agents.
